The Tuesday Greats: An office ladies podcast, a new chapter of Breaking Bad and other shows I'm excited about

Happy Tuesday!

The past week has brought a lot of exciting movie and entertainment things. I'm not really big into TV, nor am I a big movie buff, but there are a few shows that I fell head-over-heels for.

The first TV show I actually watched from start to finish was Breaking Bad. My dad started watching it a year or so after it went on air (2008). He started binge watching it on Netflix and mentioned it to me.

I started watching as was hooked. I was properly horrified by the second episode of Season 1 (DON'T RUIN IT IF YOU HAVEN'T WATCHED IT). But, just know that it was gross I was disturbed that I kept watching after that.

When Ty and I started dating, we started watching it together. We spent so many Friday nights eating junk food and watching episode after episode of Breaking Bad. We finished it together. Honestly, the ending was kinda unsatisfying. I always felt the last season felt rushed.

My angst about the ending was soon quelled when Better Call Saul came out. I was reluctant to watch it at first, fearing it would fall so short of Breaking Bad.

Boy, I was wrong.

I think Better Call Saul is just as good as Breaking Bad. And the origin stories of all the key Breaking Bad characters (namely, Saul) really enriches and further explains those characters' roles in Breaking Bad.

It's been way too long since the last season of Better Call Saul was released (2 years!) and I'm salty about it.

Alas! "El Camino" was released last Friday. The movie continues the story of Jesse Pinkman after the last episode of Breaking Bad. The episode ends with Jesse driving away while cry-laughing. That's where "El Camino" picks up.

I tried to watch "El Camino" last Friday while Ty was out of town working, but after 5 minutes of watching, I realized I needed to go back and re-watch a few episodes of Breaking Bad. I've forgotten a lot.

(Granted, I did finish college, get married, and move four times since Breaking Bad ended, so I get a free pass).

I plan to watch "El Camino" one night this week. I can't wait. NO SPOILERS PLEASE.

Speaking of new things about TV shows that have been off-air for a while, Jenna Fischer and Angela Kinsey are re-watching every episode of "The Office," talking about it, and turning those conversations into a podcast called "Office Ladies."

Y'all. I'm so excited. I love podcasts. I spend a lot of time trail running and always need new things to listen to. Podcasts are great, because it's kind of like eavesdropping on someone else's conversation (a favorite past time on the trails).

Plus, listening to a podcast keeps your mind preoccupied with the podcast topic instead of obsessing over how many more miles you have to run.

I confess I haven't finished all of The Office. I've watched every episode until the Will Ferrell season. (I haven't convinced myself to watch it yet).

"Office Ladies" comes out tomorrow (Wednesday, Oct. 16.) and I can't wait to listen.

Speaking of podcasts, one of my favorite musicians, Dustin Kensrue, just started his podcast called "Carry the Fire."

DK is one of my faves for so many reasons. He founded the post-hardcore band Thrice (one of my all-time favorites). He was also a worship pastor for a while, and put out his own worship album (which holds some of my favorite worship songs ever). He also has his own solo project.

Ty proposed to me with Dustin Kensrue's song, "Pistol." His music holds a very special place in my heart, but I also enjoy his perspectives on life and such.

So, yeah, three episodes are out now. I've just started listening to it this week.
